The Black Stars have improved their chances of making it into the next stage of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations after beating Algeria 1-0 in their second group fixture.

Captain Asamoah Gyan scored in injury time to ensure the stars got their first three points of the tournament.

The team’s performance was an improvement over their opening encounter with Senegal which they lost 2-1.

Algeria still leads the group table with 3 points, followed by Senegal who also have 3 points and Ghana are third.

South Africa who are yet to pick up any point will play Senegal in the next group game.
