The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency executives have accused the District Chief Executive for East Mamprusi in the Northern Region of introducing ghost names into the School Feeding Programme and using the monies for his private lotto business.

[contextly_sidebar id=”00eBSoPONJNouqwcdXOIpkWf8KmvRTBp”]They have therefore called for forensic audit into the East Mamprusi District School Feeding Programme.

They have also served notice of mobilizing party foot soldiers to hit the streets if President John Dramani Mahama fails to sack the East Mamprusi District Chief Executive, Adam Imoro within two weeks.

Furtherance to this demand, they have suspended all party activities in the constituency until the President acted upon their request.

At a news conference, the NDC Nalerigu/Gambaga constituency Secretary, Iddrisu Sampah insinuated, “The DCE has employed ghost caterers for the School Feeding Programme and takes money on behalf of these ghost caterers to aid his private lotto business.”

“The DCE who is a private banker to banker lotto operator is still into that business in the district and in some cases he is not able to pay claims of winners who surround him in the office with all sorts of abusive language for their monies thus bringing the office of the Presidency into ridicule and disgrace,” he added.

He warned that Adam Imoro’s continuous stay in office could cause the NDC’s shocking defeat in the Nalerigu/Gambaga constituency in 2016.

“Since the coming into office of the current DCE in 2009, the party has experienced sharp division which has resulted to a drop of support and votes from a winning difference of over 4000 in 2008 to 420 in 2012 general elections which is a very thin line to walk on.”

“We are more than convinced that the DCE’s continuous stay in office is detrimental and suicidal for the party: we therefore pray that His Excellency will immediately without further delay remove him from office, this will avert the party’s foot soldiers in the branches and the general masses from the hitting the streets in their numbers to back their demand for his removal from office,” he emphasized.

According to the Nalerigu/Gambaga NDC Secretary, Adam Imoro’s lukewarm attitude towards the party’s welfare caused their eviction from their office accommodation space since 2010 for non-payment of rent.

“Due to the ineffectiveness of the DCE, the constituency party office in Nalerigu has been retrieved by the landlord since 2010 for non-payment of rent: the DCE has refused to rent another office accommodation upon several appeals by the people.”

Currently, the NDC can only boast of two out of five Parliamentary seats in Mamprugu land in the Northern Region which is the traditional home of the NPP’s thrice running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Meanwhile all attempts by Citi News to get a response from the DCE proved futile.
