SIC Insurance Company Limited in its first official communication on the current troubles within the company is assuring that its management is taking active steps to resolve them.

[contextly_sidebar id=”QolUBfE7IEn2QIiZUpULndZLUsX8CpTd”]According to a statement from SIC Insurance dated January 20, its Managing Director Mrs. Doris Awo Nkani has been advised by the board of directors to take part of her accumulated annual leave effective January 26.

The statement confirmed earlier reports by Citi Business News that the Deputy Managing Director (Technical) will act as Managing Director.

It further said, “the management of SIC Insurance Company limited have noted with concern, reports circulating within the media about the current happenings in the company and wish to set the record straight.”

“We wish to explicitly state that SIC insurance company limited is licensed to underwrite risk and pay legitimate claims just as any other insurance company in Ghana and the world over,” the statement added.

A credit guarantee underwritten by SIC Insurance has resulted in a claim and one of the parties involved has secured a judgment from the court in their favour.

According to management of the company, reports by some media houses that the Managing Director, Mrs. Doris Awo Nkani is on interdiction are not the case.

“The board wishes to categorically state that this development has no relation to the earlier interdiction of the deputy managing director, finance and administration,” the statement emphasized.
