The 2016 edition of the MasterCard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity competition has been launched in Accra to allow young Africans generate ideas that can be implemented to change the lives of people living in rural areas.
According to the foundation, applications are being expected from Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique , Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
At a ceremony in Accra, the foundation announced that it received impressive applications last year.
The MasterCard Foundation works with visionary organizations to provide greater access to education, skills training and financial services for poor people in Africa.
As one of the largest, independent foundations, its work is guided by its mission to advance learning and promote financial inclusion.
Based in Toronto, Canada, its independence was established by MasterCard when the Foundation was created in 2006.
