Replicate the love of Jesus in your lives – Mrs Amissah Arthur

The Second lady, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, has asked Ghanaians to replicate the love Jesus showed through his sacrifice on the cross in their lives.

According to her, the essence of Christmas is love and Ghana as a country needs that love.

She noted that although many Ghanaians claimed to be Christians, they hardly followed the doctrines of the Bible, which she said taught people to love even their enemies.

She was speaking at the Accra Christmas chorale night organised by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) at their headquarters in Accra on Saturday.

Mrs Amissah-Arthur said although love was paramount at Christmas, there was a need for the love shown to be genuine even with the gifts people give out.

“That is when your blessing will come,” she added.

The Second Lady expressed regret that many people who she said claimed to be Christians were not exhibiting love in their relations with people, especially friends, colleagues at work and spouses at home. image (1)

“This is not what the Lord came to teach us,” she said, adding that people must show love to others even if no one is watching.

“This Christmas, it is my prayer that we all make it a point that if we haven’t started loving our children, spouses, colleagues, our church sisters and brothers, our neighbours then may I please ask we start this Christmas and show genuine love .

“Let us ask the Lord to give us the grace to love those we find it difficult to love and may this season steer us to continue showing love, “she said. image (2)

The festive evening saw choir groups such as the Winneba Youth Choir, Bountiful Collegiate Chorale and in-house LDS Multi Stake Choir entertain guests with melodious Christmas chorals, eliciting rapturous applause and cheers after every delivery.

In between the Harmonious chorals were readings of passages of the Bible that catalogued the birth of Jesus Christ to his crucifixion.
