Some Ghanaians in the United States (US) have taken to the streets to press home demands for a new voters register.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) earlier gave reasons for the current voters register to be maintained for the 2016 election despite concerns raised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The demonstrators, who believe government’s reasons are untenable however insist the old register is bloated with foreign nationals and must be changed.

The demonstrators were seen holding cards with “ghost names in our voters register. We want fair elections in 2016” , among others written on them.

This is the second time Ghanaians living abroad have demonstrated against the Mahama led administration.
