The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two persons for allegedly robbing and terrorizing some residents of Amanfrom.

The residents have been robbed of their monies and in some cases subject them to severe beatings.

The situation compelled the police to set up a temporary police post to facilitate the protection of residents.

The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan yesterday visited the community to assess the situation.

Addressing the residents of the town yesterday, the Accra Regional Police Commander DCOP Christian Tetteh-Yohuno says the suspects are being processed for court.

“With your support, some of your men quickly informed the police of the presence of two guys. One is 19years called Jafasu and the other one is Mohammed who is 20. The 19 year old suspect has a rasta but cut it off after the robbery. So they are in our custody. We are also processing these two people to be sent to court”, he said.

He gave the assurance that the police will do all it can to protect residents of the community from robbery attacks adding that “so this means that we are here to support you to make the place safe.”
