Barely a week after President Mahama appealed to the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to speed up efforts to pay held up cash of DKM customers, Citi Business News has gathered the central bank may this week begin the distribution of the depositors cash.

Citi Business News sources have revealed that the Bank of Ghana will this week after receipt of the auditor’s report meet with the microfinance company to discuss further the report.
Sources familiar with the matter say the central bank is likely to take a decision on DKM Microfinance company before the 90 day moratorium elapses.
DKM with branches in Sunyani, Bolgatanga and Wa had its operations suspended on the 11th of May after it violated the banking act.
According to the BOG, the Company failed to hold sufficient assets to meet its liabilities to depositors.

Following the 90 day moratorium, customers of DKM microfinance have appealed to the central bank to give back maturing investments to them whiles investigations continue; a plea the central bank declined.
