Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has expressed his preparedness to drag the Talensi Member of Parliament (MP) to the Supreme Court if he does not vacate his seat in the House.

[contextly_sidebar id=”9ISgo8EPggDrdLUXUyoxs1feB2ngpl7d”]He also stated that if the need arises for Robert Masore Nachinab Doameng to be hurled before the Privileges Committee, it will be done.

According to Muntaka, calls for Doameng’s dismissal could have been prevented if he had resigned immediately after his enskinnment as Paramount Chief of Talensi.

“It would have been better if he had honourably resigned and save us all this hullabaloo. If you talk about Supreme Court, you can be rest assured, we will go.”

“If it is for him to be hurled before the Privileges Committee, it will happen so I don’t think some of us would want to renege on our responsibilities,” he added.

Alhaji Muntaka has been advocating for the newly enskinned Talensi chief to be sacked from Parliament since his continuous stay is in violation of the 1992 constitution.

He questioned why Doameng has failed to officially inform the House, despite his enskinnment some weeks ago.

The Minority in Parliament are however pleaded that the Talensi MP should not be sacked until claims that he had been elevated to the status of a Paramount Chief had been substantiated.

In an interview with Citi News however, the Asawase legislator said he has video evidence of Doameng’s enskinnment.

He said he intends providing the evidence to Parliament to push for his expulsion from Parliament.

“I currently have the complete programme activities for the enskinnment. I also have over three hours of video recording from day one to the last day when he was enskinned…So there is no doubt,” he revealed.

“I intend to show it to the Speaker… I am going to play it for him to see together with the leadership. Definitely, I have the evidence and I will not hesitate to use it.”

Muntaka reiterated his call on the new Talensi Paramount chief to resign from Parliament.
