The 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), will travel to Bolgatanga on Friday to participate in the funeral rites of Adam Mahama.

Citi News’ Sammy Wiafe who was at Bawumia’s residence said “a lot of both national and regional party supporters and executives have called on Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to sympathize with him following this tragic incident that have hit the party.”

“Nana Addo is not in town so automatically the mantle of leadership falls on Dr. Mahamdu Bawumia who is here with party officials as well as some members of Parliament who have called on him to sympathize with him…,” Sammy Wiafe added.

Meanwhile First Vice Chair of the NPP Freddie Blay, who addressed the media at Bawumia’s residence where party members thronged in their numbers to commiserate with the leadership of the party, has advised party members to be calm.

“The tragedy of the death of an individual shows that we should do everything in moderation. We shouldn’t pour petrol or kerosene on that fire. We should be clam and more resolved to fight to be united and organise our campaign.”

He also advised party members not to take the law into their hands but rather allow the Police to punish the perpetrators.

“We should not do anything based on provocation or pain. I don’t think we have gotten to do the end of what has happened. We are sad but we call on you to sympathize with us”

Adam passed away on Thursday after he was attacked by some unidentified persons.
