policeeCiti News has gathered that police officers in the Chereponi district of the Northern Region have been left at the mercy of the weather as they struggle to carry out their official duties under trees.

This is largely due to vandalization of the Chereponi district police station by irate youth in protest against the arrest of a local fuel dealer last week.

The local fuel dealer was arrested for allegedly selling adulterated fuel to the police patrol team.

Citi News checks indicated that the vandalized, police station was left unattended to due to lack of funds to renovate the building.

Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed to Citi News that the needless attack was hampering their operations there.

He condemned the lawless act and gave the assurance that the police will flush out miscreants in the region.

ASP Ebenezer Tetteh reiterated the need for citizens to be law abiding and assist the police to combat crime, protect lives and property.

According to him, those found culpable will be prosecuted and charged to renovate the vandalized police station.
