Pressure group, OccupyGhana has thrown its weight behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as it plans to embark on a demonstration against government over the current energy crisis.

[contextly_sidebar id=”7crFIzLmMOAMKt1bwyXnUi2Nj6NR7wRE”]The protest dubbed “Wɔn Gbo” demonstration according to the NPP is also to protest against the worsening economic situation in the country.

In a statement, OccupyGhana said, “it is glad to note that concerned Ghanaians are rising up responsibly and demanding action from our leadership.”

The NPP last week announced plans to stage the demonstration on February 18 in Accra.

According to OccupyGhana “the challenges we are currently experiencing, including but not limited to economic mismanagement, the ever-worsening power crisis and their attendant effects on the cost of doing business in particular and the economy at large, including government’s inability or unwillingness to retrieve wrongfully paid judgment debts, are all attributable to poor leadership and a lack of commitment to good and responsible governance.”

The Deputy Director of Communications of the NPP, Anthony Karbo hinted that the party’s flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo will lead the demonstration in Accra.
