An aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong says the party needs complete overhauling to attract floating voters.

He also proposed the designing of a proper work plan to woo residents of Zongo communities whose allegiance to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is unquestionable.

This in Mr. Agyepong’s estimation will convince residents of Zongo communities and floating voters to change position and massively vote for the NPP in 2016.

Mr. Kwabena Agyepong was addressing the media on Monday March 25, 2014 at his Nima campaign office in Accra.

He told the enthusiastic crowd that the NPP needed visionary leadership to win the 2016 general elections.

He observed that there was a worrying disconnect between the party’s national leadership and the grassroot organizers.

The former Presidential Spokesperson promised to be a practical General Secretary who will concentrate on reviving the spirit of voluntarism in the NPP.

Mr. Agyepong said despite the smear campaigns against him by his detractors, he was optimistic of winning the NPP General Secretary contest in Tamale on April 12, 2014.

The news conference attracted NPP stalwarts, sympathizers and some constituency executives from across the country who pledged their unflinching support to Mr. Agyepong.

Kwabena Agyepong is competing with incumbent General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Lawyer Yaw Boabeng Asamoah and Lawyer Nkrabeah Effa Dartey.
