A former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Ohene Ntow has called on the leadership of the party to suspend its Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu.

His demands come days after Bugri Naabu allegedly said in a secret tape that, the party’s big wigs, including party Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, have taken bribes from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make the NPP lose the 2016 election.

He has therefore called for an investigation into Bugri Naabu’s conduct.

“Bugri Naabu must be suspended for investigation to be conducted, he must provide evidence to the effect that myself, Paul Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong have taken money from the NDC, we should not allow this to continue” he fumed.

“Bugri Naabu has threatened me, has threatened Chairman Afoko, has threatened Kwabena Agyepong and has even threatened  Kwadwo Mpianin because he says we do not want Nana Akufo Addo to be President,” Ohene Ntow stated.

This is not the first time a member of the party has called for an investigation into Bugri Naabu’s conduct.

A former NPP flagbearer aspirant, Francis Addai Nimoh earlier called for an investigation into his conduct after he allegedly asked a three-member committee to investigate and fish out some party delegates’ who voted against Nana Addo in the party’s Super Delegates Congress on August 31, 2014.

Nana Ohene Ntow who is also a member of the National Council of the NPP said, in the lead up to the NPP’s congress to elect a flagbearer in October last year, Bugri Naabu on several occasions threatened him.

“Bugri Naabu must be brought to order because in recent times he’s been doing things that run completely counter to the  interest of the party and indeed brings the name of the party into disrepute,’’ Nana Ohene Ntow said.
