The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is placing emphasis on the full protection of all key national assets and installation as well as warehouses nationwide.

“As an immediate measure, the Chief Fire Officer has directed all regional commanders to liaise with stakeholders and conduct fire safety audits. This is to ensure that there is adequate fire protection cover for all government installations in the country,” it said.

The statement said fire safety education campaign is ongoing and the service calls for massive public support since fire safety is a shared responsibility.

“Management is of the view that with support from the public and other organisations, the GNFS would always meet the expectation of the public by effectively managing fire outbreaks in all national installations.

“Management wishes to assure Ghanaians that appropriate measures have been put in place to control the recurrence of these fire incidents.”
