The Christian Council of Ghana has urged Ghanaians to learn from the events in France and respect the religious sensibilities of people.
[contextly_sidebar id=”DkhzK6H0FoGjhGq1slzKCVEPZo5Dk6ga”]A satirical magazine was attacked because of a satirical publication on the prophet Mohammed.
The Council however condemned the attack on the editor of the magazine, Charlie Hebdo that lead to 12 people being killed.
The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev Dr. Stephen Opuni Frimpong said structures should be developed in this country to deal with issues bothering on religious insensitivities
“We can have non-violent ways of solving our problems, calling for changes etc. we must just build the structures and again we will pray that we will start a serious work towards inter-faith harmony in our country,” he said.
Rev Frimpong encouraged citizens to be religious tolerance and respect others beliefs, stating, “we must respect religious sensitivity of people, because people respect, cherish and attach emotionally from all angle in whatever they believe. And that must be considered by all.”
Several calls from different religious groups have been made worldwide to stop these religious violence.
