Some buildings within the airport enclave may have to be demolished, the Ministry of Transport has revealed.
The decision to pull down buildings within the enclave follows the crash-landing of a cargo plane at the Kotoka International Airport(KIA).
The Ministry will said pending the outcome of a report on the accident, some buildings may go down if their locations threaten aviation security.

In an interview with Citi News, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Joyce Mogtari said the objective of the exercise is to safeguard airport lands in the country.
“We have invited National Security to form a task force. This is a taskforce that is actually going to go around and collapse certain buildings because there have been complaints that some of these buildings appear to be in the flight path
“First and foremost we are going to do an assessment of all these properties so when they have gone round and made assessment of all these buildings , what will happen is that a formal report containing whatever recommendations that we have will be submitted to the Minister of Transport for further action to be taken.”
An Ethiopian cargo plane which came into the country from Lome [Togo] crash-landed at the KIA in Accra on Saturday morning.
According to the Corporate Communications Officer of Ghana Airport Company, Newman Quartey the plane “skidded off the runway” while trying to land safely.
Though the cause of the accident is not yet known, some have attributed it to bad weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has begun investigations into circumstances that led to the crash-landing of an Ethiopian cargo plane at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
