Black Stars draw with Cambuur in pre-AFCON friendly

The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by SC Cambuur of Holland in a pre-AFCON 2015 friendly played in Spain on Thursday. The match was the second for the team after they played with Olhanenses on Wednesday.

Coach Avram Grant started with a 3-5-2/ 3-4-3 formation that had Razak Braimah in goal; Jonathan Mensah, Awal Mohammed, Jonathan Mensah in defence; Daniel Amartey, Harrison Afful, Baba Rahman, Emmanuel-Agyemang-Badu in midfield; Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Asamoah Gyan in attack.

However, the team fell behind to a goal from Daniel De Ridder in the 16th minute and that was the score at the end of the first half.

Andre Ayew equalised in the 60th minute with a header and soon after, Coach Avram Grant made some changes as he brought on Kwesi Appiah, Mubarak Wakaso and Frank Acheampong on for Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Baba Rahman.

John Boye and Daniel Amartey were both replaced by Christian Atsu and David Accam while the final change saw Afriyie Acquah coming on for Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu who picked up a knock in the match.

Ghana will play their third and final pre-AFCON friendly against Freiburg on the 14th of January in Seville before flying to Equatorial Guinea to face South Africa, Algeria and Senegal in Group C of the tournament.
