The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has urged government to improve the energy situation in other to avert the continuous collapse of manufacturing companies in the country.

According to the chamber, the current trend where businesses are folding up will continue if government does not step up its efforts on the energy sector.

The  Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) announced that it is reverting to the load shedding programme after the yuletide.

[contextly_sidebar id=”zCiacosvNWDArShx4erTIlylJ2IQwb8Y”]In an interview with Citi News, the first Vice President of the chamber, Dr. Prosper Adablah, maintained that the Chmaber was hopeful of a change because of the president’s promise that the power crises will end in 2015.

“We are hoping that the situation will improve because if it doesn’t then our lots will just become worse.”

According to him the Chmaber  is looking forward to changes in the situation based on the promises made by the president adding, “Ghana gas has come in and promises had been made by several areas that resources had been gathered to bring in some more gas.”

“We cannot predict what the will happen in mid-year if the energy crisis is not resolved. It is bad for business because our companies are collapsing and they will keep on collapsing until the situation is resolved, he warned.
