WA clashes: Four arrested over death of a woman

The Upper West Regional Police command has arrested four suspects in connection with the killing of a woman in the recent clashes in Wa that left several people injured.

[contextly_sidebar id=”3LVSKAQseWltB4aAuCe2rc6I716EGxBI”]Acting Upper West Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Edmond Nyamekye disclosed this in an interaction with Citi News.

He said “the four were arrested in separate operations embarked on by our men between last Friday and Sunday, the 2nd and 4th of January 2015”.

They include: Abdullah Bashirudeen 28, Salih Ibrahim popularly known as Ray Packer 41, Rashid Saidu 25 and Nurideen Ibrahim 38 who the police described as a prime suspect of the deadly Jujedeyiri-Dondonli clashes.

The Police retrieved one loaded pump action gun each from the suspects.

ASP Edmond Nyamekye said the four will be put before court after investigations are completed. He reiterated “the police are ready to foil any untoward behaviour that will disturb the peace of residents in the two communities”.

Residents of “Dondoli” and “Jujedeyiri” have been on each other’s throats for the past two months over a parcel of land.

But the acting police PRO warned that his men will descend heavily on any individual or group that will be linked with the disturbance.
