PPP regional conferences to begin January

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) will begin its regional conferences to elect regional executives of the party on January 17, 2015.

A press statement signed by the Chairman of the PPP Elections Committee, De-Roy Kwesi Andrew indicated that nominations for various positions will also open immediately and close one week before the respective regional conference.

The regional conference will be a continuation of the party’s constituency and regional elections held across the country last year.

The positions to be contested for are as follows

  • Chairperson
  • Vice Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Assistant Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Organiser
  • Assistant Organiser
  • Women’s Organiser
  • Assistant Women’s Organiser
  • Youth Organiser
  • Assistant Youth Organiser
  • Education Secretary
  • Nine other members of the Executive Committee shall be elected by the Elected Regional Executives to get the required 21 membership of the Regional Executive Committee.

Filing Fees

The filing fees for the various positions are below

Chairman                             –              Ghc500.00

Secretary                             –              Ghc400.00

Treasurer                            –              Ghc400.00

Others                                  –              Ghc250.00

Any Female Candidate –              will pay 50% of approved filing fees.
