The Kampakuya Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani, Regent of Dagbon has presented large quantities of items worth hundreds of Ghana Cedis to inmates of the Yendi Prison to help them celebrate the New Year.

He said it is sad for the inmates to remain in prison during the festive period hence the need for the Regent to help with food to help them feel that they are not excluded in the society and advised them to live responsible lives when they gain freedom.

He advised the inmates to use every opportunity available to acquire various skills including sewing, blacksmith, weaving, carpentry so that when they gain their freedom their relatives could establish their own businesses.

Mr Gariba urged the inmates to live exemplary lives when they gain their freedom so that others would learn from them and abstain from crime.

He also advised prison officers to give good care and training to the inmates to reform them to lives worth emulation after prison.

Mr Frank Okyere, Commanding Officer of the Yendi Prison Service thanked the Regent for the gesture and appealed to other benevolent persons and organisations to emulate the kind gesture.
