A National Chairman aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Hudu Yahaya has denied reports that he has dropped out of the party’s leadership race.
Alhaji Yahaya is contesting the chairmanship slot together with Dan Abodakpi, Kofi Portuphy and the incumbent Chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei.
Media reports claim Hudu Yahaya has bowed out of the race due to pressure from party big wigs.

He said some people claim “they heard it on radio from Central Region that one Dawud who is a campaign coordinator for Portuphy’s campaign told delegates that Alhaji has been compelled by Uncle Ato Ahwoi to step down.”
He said upon hearing the information his supporters rushed into Alhaji’s office to find out if it’s true.
“We also heard news from the office that Alhaji’s posters were being removed in the Western Region. So we don’t know where that news is coming from but it is not true. We are also trying to look at it very well and know how to respond to it,” he added.
Abu Afandi however accused Huudu Yahaya’s contenders of masterminding such acts against his boss.
Meanwhile, the NDC will soon go to the polls to elect its regional executives which will be proceeded with the election of its national officers.
