One person has been reported dead and 16 others have sustained various degrees of injuries when a passenger bus they were travelling on , got involved in an accident on the Kasoa-Weija road on Wednesday morning.
Fire service personnel at the scene told Citi News reporter Franklyn Badu that the driver of the Mercedes Benz bus was negotiating a U-turn at the Weija junction when he saw a tipper truck approaching with speed.
Fearing a collision, the passenger bus driver abruptly slammed on his breaks, causing the vehicle to somersault.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and clinics for treatment.
