The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will on Sunday, November 2 make a final determination on a case brought before it by Morocco.

The Moroccan government last Friday petitioned CAF to postpone the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for January 2015 due to the spread of the Ebola virus.

[contextly_sidebar id=”AbFZZbsowYLpqxyW4jNzfUbetcPLTaTT”]Morocco contends that the proposal is not an attempt to pull out of the competition but a precautionary measure taken to protect the citizens of Morocco and other participating countries.

They argue that the postponement will enable the country place in the adequate measures to prevent the endangering of lives.

Sources at CAF told Citi News that the final determination of the case will end the current speculation on the organisation of the AFCON.

The ebola outbreak has affected some West African countries such as Nigeria, Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone with the hardest hit being Liberia.

Over  4000 lives have been lost so far and many countries are instituting internal measures to prevent the outbreak of the disease.
