The police administration is embarking on a public confidence re-affirmation campaign.

The campaign is aimed at reducing unprofessional practices and preventing the public from compromising the police among others.

The Public Relations Officer of the Public Affairs Department of the Service, DSP Cephas Arthur in an interview with Citi News explained that the detention of the police officer who fired at a customer at Cal Bank over the weekend is one of the ways of boosting public confidence in the police service.

He revealed that the police will give away “badges, wristbands, flyers, T. Shirts, stickers and other things which carry some master messages, messages that bother on vices on the part of Police which affects the conduct of the general public.”

The messages on these items he said will also bother on “virtues that are associated with the work of the Police to ensure that the Police Service works effectively.”

DSP Arthur urged the public to help the police accomplish this mission to reduce to the barest minimum, or possibly, eradicate crime perpetrated by some police officers and the general public.
