Residents of Larabanga in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region will no longer receive health services under trees.

Government has built a modern health facility for the community which has gained global popularity because of the mysterious mosque and mystic stone located there.

The newly built health centre has 2 wards, one consulting room, Antenatal, Dispensary and an office.

Additional two Nurses bungalows, a pit latrine and a urinal have being attached to the health facility.

The contractor, China Harbours Engineering Company limited has completed the project and handed over keys to the West Gonja District Assembly.

District Chief Executive for West Gonja, Ali Bakari Kassim commended the contractor for completing the project on schedule.

He cautioned contractors working on numerous projects in the district against shoddy work.

The DCE warned that his administration will not hesitate to terminate projects awarded to non performing contractors.
Nursing Officer in charge of Mole sub district, Alhassan Mohammed showed appreciation for the intervention.

He was optimistic that the new facilities will augment staffing and motivate health personnel to accept postings to the community.

The contractor, Morison Zhang Long Fei said 300 natives of the West Gonja District have been recruited as masons.

A poorly ventilated workspace previously used as CHPS compound in the community could not accommodate health staff and residents of the area who went there for medical services.

Records showed that at least 35 residents of Larabanga and other adjourning communities daily visited the under trees health centre.
