The New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Northern Region have already arrived in Tamale ahead of the party’s super delegates congress slated for Sunday August 31.

Regardless of the legal tussle over the upcoming event, the northern delegates appeared unperturbed.

The region has about 70 delegates whose destiny will be decided after Friday August 29, 2014 court sitting in Accra on an application filed by a member of the party, David Hoezame.

He is in court seeking a judicial order to restrain the NPP from holding the nationwide super delegates congress.

The NPP’s twice running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday August 28, 2014 met with the delegates in Tamale.

Dr. Bawumia earlier met with delegates in the Upper East region and is expected to on Friday August 29, 2014 meet with those in the Upper West region to consolidate Nana Akufo Addo’s awesome endorsement.

In a related development, NPP northern regional Council of Elders exemplified the Appiah Menka led Ashanti regional Council of Elders unanimous endorsement of Presidential hopeful Nana Akufo Addo.

They argued that Nana Addo was well marketed and appealing to the electorate than any of the other six aspirants.

Chairman of the northern NPP Council of Elders, Chief Mahama Braimah said, “Honestly we back what the Ashanti regional Chairman has said.”

“If Nana is able to get about 80% of the votes then it will be needless going to waste money again to do the congress proper, we give him our barking.”

Chief Mahama Braimah described Nana Akufo Addo as Ghana’s last hope of survival.

“You can see how the economy is being mismanaged; he is the only one we can rely on now and I think others fear him when they hear the name Nana, they go round saying all sorts of things they should not say about him.”

He fumed, “I don’t know what the man has done for some people to dislike him, is a sad story.”
