Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Tamale Central constituency have commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for the smooth conduct of the limited voter registration exercise.
The consistency Secretary, Musah Mutawakil praised the EC in a Citi News interview at a get together organized in Tamale.
The occasion was meant to show appreciation for the vigilance of all NPP polling agents throughout the 10 days limited voter registration exercise.
According to him, the level of cooperation between EC officials and party polling agents made the exercise successful.
He reaffirmed the NPP’s endeavor to always be an ally of the EC in deepening Ghana’s democratic credentials.
Musah Mutawakil called for deeper collaboration between the EC and political parties to make the 2016 general elections free, fair and transparent.
He opined that the NPP polling agents understood the verdict of the 2012 election petition, hence their vigilance.
He posited that Ghanaians were yearning for the NPP’s return to power but cautioned the polling agents against complacency.
Musah Mutawakil inspired the polling agents to rekindle their spirit of voluntarism come the 2016 general elections.
