The Board and management of the Accra Compost Plant will meet on Friday to determine how to respond to government’s refusal to release funds for the resumption of work.

The management says it is tired of government’s continuous promises to release funds and never doing so.

The only recycling and compost plant in Accra was shut down in May putting pressure of the only landfill site in Kpone which is supposed to serve Tema metropolis and its surroundings.

The shutdown of the plant resulted in the laying off of about 100.

Managers of the plant had earlier warned that government’s delayed intervention may see more of the workers laid off.
