One person is feared dead in an accident at Santasi Anyinam, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Citi News’ Ashanti Regional Correspondent Hawa Idrissu reported that several others have sustained varying degrees of injuries and have been taken to the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital for treatment .
She added that a few of the other survivors were ‘lying on the road’ while medical personnel attended to them.
She reported that “the driver of the Sprinter bus they were travelling in from Obuasi, was driving at high speeds, lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road.”
Eyewitnesses told Citi News that the driver of the but had been attempting to overtake another care before he lost control.
Police and emergency medical personnel have arrived at the scene, which has attracted a large crowd of onlookers.
Hawa reported that the accident has created some amount of traffic on the road.
