Customers of the circle branch of GCB Bank will soon have access to the bank’s services.

The bank was forced to halt operations at the GCB towers following the twin flood and fire disaster in June last year that razed the Goil filling station at Circle to the ground and claimed over 150 lives.
The Board Chairman of GCB Bank, Daniel Owiredu tells Citi Business News a new site has been secured for work to start.
“We have looked at it and it’s a major issue and I am sure a lot of construction has gone around so we do not want to put our customers and staff at risk. So we have determined that we will relocate the branch and an action is in place to site it at a different place,” he stated.
The new office, Citi Business News understands will be within the same enclave as the bank says,“the location is a prime area for its operations”.
Though Daniel Owiredu will not disclose any timelines, he was hopeful work will be completed as soon as possible to enable the bank meet the growing needs of its customers.
“I cannot give a timing now but as quickly as we can. It is a prime area for us and we are taking the steps to put that into operation,”
Meanwhile the bank says it is yet to decide on the use of its GCB towers following concerns that the location is a flood prone area.
