The Member of Parliament for the Keta constituency, Richard Quashigah says the seeming massive support from the people of the Volta Region for the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo-Addo during his tour is just a facade.

The Flagbearer’s four day tour of the region took him to Ketu South, South and Central Tongu constituency, towns like Anloga, Ave-Dakpa, Akatsi, Aflao, Tadzewu , Adidome and Sogakope.

But the Keta legislator believes the NDC still has an advantage over the NPP despite the seeming support Nana Addo received in the region.

He alleged that the NPP bused people from different areas to create the impression that the people of the Volta Region support Nana Addo’s candidature.

“I believe strongly that the NDC is as solid as ever, more solid than before and in the last elections, we had 94.4%. We are very much determined to move to 97.4%. If you bus people from all over the Southern zone, from Akatsi, from Ketu South and Ketu North and bring all of these people to congregate at Angloga market on a market day,you have achieved nothing. If you decide to hold your rally on a market day within the market. What do you expect?Of course those who have come to market will like to see what is going on and so that for me is not surprising at all. ”

‘NPP replaced NDC flags

His comments come days after he alleged that some NDC posters fixed at vantage points in the region were taken off by the NPP during Nana Addo’s tour of the region.

“…I observed unfortunately that flags that we had hoisted were all removed nefariously at midnight. By day break on Saturday, all our flags were off, in their place and we saw NPP flags. At the time we didn’t even know that Nana Akufo Addo had intentions of visiting the Keta constituency and municipality in general,” he said.
