The Central Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth organizer, Dennis Percy Quaicoe has disclosed to Citi FM that majority of the NPP youth wants the 2012 presidential candidate Nana Akuffo Addo to lead the party in 2016 and not Alan Kyeremanteng.

Card bearing members of the party will head to the polls later in 2014 to elect a Presidential nominee for the 2016 national elections.

Nana Addo Dankwa and the former Ghana Ambassador, Alan Kyeremanteng remain key contenders for the upcoming poll.

Speaking to Citi FM, Dennis Quaicoe affirmed his support for Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and revealed that “i believe Mr. Kyeremanteng is a nice person but i will prefer somebody who has been with us continuously, that person will understand our worries and all that,

He later added that “between the two of them Nana Akuffo- Addo stands tall so i will go for him when it comes to the two of them in the polls”

Mr. Kyeremanteng earlier this month entreated congress to explore other opportunities aside Nana Addo Dankwa or else risk losing the 2016 national elections.

Mr. Quaicoe also took the opportunity to caution the youth not to be swayed into norm of dirty politicking and entreated them to vote based on issues.

“As for my region here i believe my youth will not engage in the dirty politicking of raining  insults on candidates. After all we are all party people. You have your choice, i have mine. We should argue but the end of the day the best person wins and we move on as a party.”
