VVIP bus crashes on Kumasi-Accra road; 3 feared dead

A 30 seater VVIP bus has been involved in a fatal accident on the Kumasi-Accra road, about 500 metres away from the popular Linda Dor rest stop.

Three people are feared dead and at least 15 seriously injured.

One of the passengers is trapped and the Fire Service personnel at the accident scene are trying to rescue him.

The driver of the bus is also in a critical condition.

The accident occurred this evening [Sunday] at about 5:42pm.

An eyewitness told Citi News it was raining heavily and poor visibility and the slippery road might have caused the accident.

Some of the survivors have been sent to the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital.

The eyewitness also reported that passers-by volunteered to take all the victims to other nearby hospitals for treatment.
