The Wenchi Municipal Police Command has picked up two individuals suspected to be behind a string of murders at Badu, a community in the Tain District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The two are reported to be a father and his son.

Two mentally challenged men were killed for suspected ritual purposes in the community a few weeks ago, and this sparked fear and panic in the community.

Speaking to Citi News, the Municipal Police Commander, Supt. Twum Barima, indicated that investigations were still on-going into the case.

He also revealed that some residents of the community tried to lynch the two suspects before the police intervened.

The police were pelted with sticks and stones as they rescued the two.

Supt. Twum Barima cautioned that the suspects were innocent until proven guilty as investigations were still ongoing.

“Legally, nobody is culpable until there is evidence to prove he was the one who committed the act. The case is still under investigation. It is very difficult for you to determine whether the suspects are serial killers,” he stated.
