Chief Executive Officer of Sparrow Productions, Shirley Frimpong Manso has said when it comes to women in politics in Ghana; she has always admired Joyce Aryee, former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.

Speaking to Citi Showbiz after premiering her new political drama series ‘Shampaign,’ at the Silverbird cinema in Accra, Shirley said politics around the world has become very similar and her new movie is a piece of what happens in a typical political campaign season.

“There’s one particular woman that I totally admire and that’s Joyce Aryee….I used to wonder about her and how she was keeping it all together because she had a family and she was also very prominent in the political scene.”

Joyce Aryee had served political roles in Ghana from the early years of the PNDC government and has been a Minister of Education before.

The premiere, which was well attended, saw the entire cast of Shampaign present and scores of other movie enthusiasts.

The patrons excitedly described the movie as not only entertaining but very educative and asked people who have not yet seen it to get their copy.

Shampaign stars Joselyn Dumas, JOT Agyeman, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nana Aba Anamoah, John Dumelo, Fred Amugi, Zynnell Zuh, Akorfa Adjeani-Asiedu, Anima Amisa Amoah, and many other old favorites, in addition to refreshing newcomers, who are bursting with massive potential. The two episodes will be running for a week.
