The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has started assessing the level of damage suffered by residents along the coast who were hit by tidal waves over the weekend.

Speaking to Citi News, NADMO’s Deputy National Coordinator in charge of Operations, Joseph Yamin, said they can only help the victims after a thorough assessment has been done.

He said his boss is currently on the ground to have firsthand information on the plights of the residents and map up ways to support them.

“The national coordinator is currently on an assessment tour of the affected areas and we will come back and deliberate on what we have to do. The coordinator is currently at the site assessing things for himself in order to put things together to know what NADMO needs to do immediately to have some reliefs sent to the people,” he added.
