Galaxy Capital has launched a new Fund which seeks to make investing easier.

According to the company, the move forms part of its quest to meet the divers needs of individuals.

Speaking at the launch, the CEO of Galaxy Capital, Samuel Bright-Kaitoo stated that the new fund is open to all and does not require high income to be able to invest,

‘‘This new Galaxy Capital fund is in two parts. The Galaxy Money Market fund which seeks to preserve capital and grow income; and the Galaxy Balanced Fund which seeks to achieve sustainable growth in capital and income by investing in equities and fixed income securities’’, he stated.

Samuel Bright-Kaitoo added,‘‘The money market fund is a short term investment fund, where we give people the opportunity to invest and hold their funds for at least a minimum of three months which is ninety one days. And then after, one can access his or her funds. There is no way an investor will lose his or her fund’’

Among other things, the fund seeks to preserve capital and grow income while providing liquidity by investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities in the short term.

Mr Bright-Kaitoo further intimated,‘‘the fund is designed and structured to take full advantage of the tax incentive provided by the internal Revenue Act 2000(Act 592) to mutual funds and unit trusts. This is to allow the Fund as well as investors an opportunity to maximise their returns from their investment in the fund’’, he said.

To be a part of this investment, an individual needs just GH¢50 to become a shareholder, with a minimum fee of GH¢10 every month.

Receiving agents are Calbank and Zenith Bank Ghana Limited.
