The Executive Secretary of the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, Sampson Asaki Awingobit has called on government to intervene in the maltreatment of Ghanaian haulage drivers by authorities at the Burkina Faso borders.
This follows complains made by Ghana haulage drivers about the bad treatment meted out to them by their neighbouring counterparts in Burkinabe.

‘‘They are cheating them, and if they are been cheated, i think Burkinabe Transport drivers are been treated well in Ghana here. They are given the due attention. Government and security agents are all protecting them”, he said.
“So if the Ghanaian transporters also go there and they are not treating them well, then they have the moral and legal right to as a matter of urgency draw governments attention to what is happening’’., he added.
