Items including documents, computers and connectivity network of Vodafone  worth millions of cedis have been completely destroyed. As a result, Vodafone subscribers can not make or receive calls, and no transaction with the GRA can be carried out.

According to an eyewitness, Mumuni Abdul-Karim Wuni, it took the Ghana National Fire service in Bawku  between 3-4 hours  to put the fire under control because they had only one fire tender, which at a point run out of water and had to move several meters in search for water.

He said the police and additional fire fighters came to put the fire under control.

Mr. Mumuni lamented that, some of the assets lost to the fire could have been rescued if the municipality had more than one fire tender, and appealed to government to add some fire tenders to augment the situation.

Efforts made to get the Bawku municipal fire service to speak on the matter proved futile.
