A police officer has been killed by suspected robbers at Kalba, in the Sawla Tuna-Kalba District of the Northern Region.

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Police Commander, ASP Francis Numado confirmed this to Citi News.

“When they saw my men on patrol, they felt threatened and so gunned one of them down. The one who was shot is a corporal, he was patrolling with two constables,” ASP Numado said.

He added that one of the suspected robbers, believed to be a Fulani has been arrested.

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District is located in the western part of the Northern Region, close to Ghana’s border with Ivory Coast.
