The United Nation’s Children Fund has donated nine motor bikes and other equipment to the Upper East regional health directorate to improve health-care delivery in the region.
Presenting the items, the Chief of operations of UNICEF Ghana, Dr. Victor Ngogala said UNICEF will continue to champion maternal care in the region through similar interventions such as these.
He however added that “this can only be achieved if healthcare providers are able to reach children and mothers who live extremely far from healthcare facilities.
He also stated that the move will help in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, 4 and 5
