Members of the Bole District Security Committee in the Northern Region were on Friday morning attacked by unknown gun men near Dollor Power, a mining community, leaving one soldier dead and other security personnel injured.
The DISEC members, led by the District Chief Executive (DCE) were ambushed by the gun men few meters to the community after crossing the Black Volta.
It is unknown whether the gun men were robbers or Ivorian rebels who are believed to be hiding in the community.
A Journalist from Bole who reported of the incident to Citi News says the DCE, James Jaaga, is unhurt, while the injured are receiving treatment at the Bole District Hospital.
