No Valenciennes stay for Warris

Ghanaian forward Abdul Majeed Warris has confirmed his exit from French club Valenciennes at the end of the current season.

The player has been with the club since January after joining on loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow and has managed a club-high tally of 9 goals in 16 appearances for the club.

Warris confirmed his departure earlier  on Wednesday through a tweet: “Want 2 say a big tanx 2 all VAFC fans n everyone for their luv n support.really appreciate everything. allez vafc”

Fans of the club also expressed their happiness at the player’s contributions since his arrival.

One fan, @VPreseau, tweeted this:

“Thank you Majeed ! #TeamVAFC“

Another one, @GabSturb, tweeted this, “Thank you Majeed for the 6 months in VAFC, good luck for the World Cup and for your future! #ALLEZVA #MAGIKWARIS“

‏@Morginou,    also a Valenciennes supporter, wrote this to the player’s Twitter account:
“Thank you for all Majeed!!! You are the best and a great player!!! Good luck for World Cup with Ghana!! #MagicWaris
Another fan, ‏@allezvafcnails,    summed up the feelings of Valenciennes fans with this tweet:
“Thanks for all what you did for VA 🙂 we won’t forget you…”
Warris’ last match for the already-relegated Valenciennes will be on Saturday against Toulouse at the Stade Municipal before joining the Black Stars in their preparations for the World Cup  in Brazil.
