The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Boahong, has pledged to play her part in strengthening the ties between Ghana and China this year.
Speaking at the celebration of Chinese New Year in Ghana, the Chinese Ambassador said her country has made a significant contribution to the economic development of Ghana and noted a sustained relationship between Ghana and China will benefit both countries.
“The main task for China this year is to implement the consensus reached between president Mahama and Chinese president Xi,” she stated.
Sun Boahong further hailed Ghanaians for developing enough trust for their Chinese associates to enhance business relationships.
President John Dramani Mahama held talks with Chinese President, Xi Jinping in South Africa, affording the two leaders an opportunity to commit themselves to strengthening the already cordial relations between the two countries and governments last year. 
Ahead of the General election in November this year, Ambassador Sun Boahong also urged Ghanaians to strive for a free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections.
