May 4th, 2014 marked exactly 3 months since the Bank of Ghana introduced new and revised foreign exchange rules aimed at stabilizing the Cedi that was depreciating fast against major foreign currencies. The new rules were introduced on the 4th of February, 2014.

Citi Business News desk analysis showed the Cedi from the beginning of the year 2014 to May 4, 2014 depreciated by about 21 percent to the dollar and the Euro and 22 percent to the British Pound.
