Government has in the midst of the challenges facing the country reminded citizens of the need to work hard and contribute their quota effectively to national development, as Christians in Ghana join the world to observe Christmas.

A  statement signed by the Minister of Communications Dr. Omane Boamah on the occasion of the Christmas festivities, urged Ghanaians to reflect on the birth of Christ and its relevance to nation building.

Christmas message from government

On the joyous occasion of the celebration of Christmas, Government extends its warm felicitations to the people of Ghana.

May we use the opportunity provided by this occasion to reflect upon the significance of the birth of Christ and its relevance to us as a people, united in our quest to move our nation forward with love, hope and goodwill.

While we reflect on the values of Christmas, let us foster the bonds of friendship and work even harder towards building a more prosperous nation in which together we surmount our national challenges to achieve our common aspirations of economic development, social integration and strong democratic values.

Even as we make merry this festive season, Government urges all Ghanaians to do so in moderation. Road users are especially advised to exercise caution while commuting on our roads. Government wishes all Ghanaians a Merry Christmas.

Signed: Edward K. Omane Boamah
(Dr) (Communications Minister)

Meanwhile President John Dramani in a personal Christmas to Ghanaians on his Facebook Page thanked God for his continuous and favour upon the country.

He prayed that the country will continuously enjoy peace and stability.
