Airtel Ghana’s Human Resource team has powered the Learning & Development Team of Airtel Africa to win the Best Organization in the Perform Category at the Café Africa 2015 eLearning International Conference held in Mauritius in November featuring Learning and Development teams from several businesses across Africa.

This accolade is awarded to an organization that has clearly defined its Return on Investment and demonstrated the material impact that learning and development programmes has had on organisational performance.

A Case Study on Airtel Ghana entitled “Discovering best practice methodologies and technologies” was recognised as best of all the 6 master class presentations during the event which powered Airtel Africa to win the coveted award.

Commenting on the recognition, Tina Muparadzi, Human Resource Director, Airtel Ghana said “we are excited to be recognized once again for our Learning and Development programmes designed to provide our employees the best platform to learn, grow and thrive. At Airtel, we believe in the power of potential – that everyone has in them the innate ability to fully realise their potential. We also recognize that our employees are our best assets that is why we have and continue to invest and empower them to be at the best.”

She continued “As a strategy, we provide formal and informal training and development opportunities for our employees. But beyond that, we focus also on their total development. We have various clubs and societies that responds to various development and social needs such as the Airtel Running & Aerobics Club and Golf Club which allows employees to actively practice, run and play golf. We do also have an in-house Toastmasters for interested employees. All these adds to growing and developing our employees and clearly makes Airtel a preferred employer in the industry.”

Airtel Ghana was recently named Best Organisation for Learning and Development at the HR Focus Awards 2015 in recognition of the Changemaker company’s commitment to providing the best environment for its employees to thrive and excel.

Airtel is Ghana’s fastest growing telecommunications network and leader in digital innovation providing cutting edge solutions to meet the communications, connectivity and collaborative needs of its customers.
