Ghanaian-owned total beverage company Kasapreko Company Limited has opened a new chapter in its history as the beverage manufacturer commissioned a $70 million state of the art factory plant at its Head Office in Spintex, Accra on Tuesday December 15, 2015.
The plant has four packaging lines equipped with world class machinery that can produce alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as bottled water in different packaging formats.
At a colourful ceremony attended by President John Mahama, the Group Chairman and Founder of Kasapreko Dr Kwabena Adjei said the four factory lines have the capacity to package a combined 110,000 bottles per hour in both glass and PET formats.
Dr Adjei said “We have invested in two state of the art customized high speed production lines for our spirit brands. These two lines have a combined capacity to package 70,000 bottles in one hour, in both glass and PET formats. In addition, we have just completed the installation of two additional high speed lines to produce our water and non-alcoholic drinks with a combined capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour”.
“These four packaging lines are the first off their kind in the country,” Dr Adjei added indicating that it is in line with Kasapreko’s commitment to quality and the drive to remain the market leader is sustained through research and development and the use of modern technology.
In his keynote address, President Mahama described Kasapreko as a successful Ghanaian-owned company and said Dr. Adjei is a good example of the voice of quality and standard Ghana-made products could attain.
He commended Kasapreko for given Ghanaians local alternatives to foreign liquors and wines with a natural blend of herbs sourced locally.
Established in 1989 in Nungua, a suburb of Accra, Kasapreko began its operations with just five employees and now employs 600 people.
Celebrating a world class beverage company, Kasapreko has over 20 products sold worldwide in a variety of brands in the bitters, whisky, gin, liqueur, brandy and wine drink as well as soft drinks and water categories. Most of the products are derived from rich herbs, locally sourced from Ghana’s wealth of organic ingredients.
